Salient Points

- The "rubber meets the road" in the tech integrated classroom. Teachers quality is the single most important determinant of student outcomes- they need tremendous support to make the jump to a 21st Century Learning Environment.

- Administrators play an important role as to whether or not teachers are able to transition to this new way of teaching. Administrators must have some foundational knowledge in 21st Century learning and teaching with technology so that they can model effective use.

- Innovative, creative, discovery based 21st Century Classrooms are founded in educational environments where risk is supported. Calculated risk is necessary for all members of the community to make the changes necessary for successful 1-1 ventures.

Corollary: Administrators must support risk taking in their districts/schools. Arguably no one is taking more risks than the teacher in the classroom dealing with 30 children with laptop computers connected to the Internet. Teachers need committed support by administrators to become the 21st Century Educators that they wish to be.
